Description
Pran, a Cambodian journalist, is assigned with a U.S.-based journalist to cover the Khmer Rouge takeover of Cambodia, but then is left behind in the final evacuations of non-Cambodian personnel. While his family is safe in the United States and his journalist friend deals with fame and the guilt of leaving Pran behind, Pran himself must find a way to survive in a place where ignorance is celebrated, where education and skill can be a one-way ticket to the killing fields.
